The Circle Line’s Park Kultury metro station will be closed for repairs from Feb. 5 to December, with trains passing through without stopping, the Moscow metro press service said Sunday, Interfax reported.
The station needs to replace escalators installed in the 1940s, a metro spokesman said.
The station’s technical infrastructure, lobby and platform will also
undergo repairs, although the appearance of the station is to be kept intact, the report said.
Eight more stations — Medvedkovo, VDNKh, Krasniye Vorota, Babushkinskaya, Marxistskaya, Baumanskaya, Novogireyevo and the Circle Line’s Prospekt Mira — face similar repairs soon, the spokesman said, without elaborating.
