STUTTGART, Germany — German carmaker Daimler is in talks with KamAZ and other companies about possibly making vans in Russia, the head of the German carmaker’s Mercedes-Benz van unit said Wednesday.
A decision is expected to be made by end of this year, Volker Mornhinweg said. “We look at Russia as a very interesting growth market in the medium term,” he told reporters.
“We are in talks with possible partners,” he said, adding that one of them is KamAZ, which is already a Daimler partner in Russia.
