In May, AvtoVAZ will assemble 45,900 Ladas, 6.8 percent more than in April. However, production of the classic Lada 2105 and Lada 2107 models will grow much more — 76.3 percent, to 17,600 units, the company said. These classics will make up 38.3 percent of AvtoVAZ’s total production.
This is the result of the cash-for-clunkers recycling program. The classic is the plant’s most popular model that is implemented under this program, and a waiting period of several weeks is already lining up for these cars.
