Sex, Drugs and Soccer

GENOA, Italy -- A court here has convicted Uruguayan soccer player Carlos Aguilera in a prostitution case and sentenced him to two years in prison, court officials said. The officials said lawyers for Aguilera, who has long been out of Italy, was expected to appeal the sentence, issued Tuesday. Aguilera, who has played for Torino and Genoa, was also fined $3,000. He was convicted of aiding prostitution and possessing and giving away a gram of cocaine, court officials said.
