Ingushetiya.ru Moves to New Address

The Moscow Times
Ingush opposition web site Ingushetiya.ru has been shut down, but its content has been moved to a new web address, a lawyer for the embattled site said Friday.

The closure of the site, fiercely critical of Ingush President Murat Zyazikov, follows a June ruling by Moscow's Kuntsevsky District Court that Ingushetiya.ru be shut down for supposedly publishing extremist statements.

"We believe the decision to close the site was illegal, and the editorial board immediately reregistered the site," lawyer Musa Pliyev said Friday, Interfax reported. "Now it appears under a new name — Ingushetia.org. This is a precise copy of the site."

Ingushetiya.ru was blocked by the regional domain name center, Pliyev said.

The owner of the site, Magomed Yevloyev, was shot dead last month while in police custody.
