French Rally Spotlighting City Culture

The Moscow Times
About 60 French residents of Moscow will be careening around the city Sunday in an auto rally designed , for fun and also to increase cultural awareness of the city.

Organized by the Russian section of Union des Francais de L'Etranger, the rally will begin at 10 A. M. at the Aerostar Hotel, said Jaqueline Amet, one of the organizers.

Teams of four persons each will compete to locate seven stops on the route. At each stop, they will get up to four clues about the location of the next site, Amet said. Teams will receive points depending on the number of clues they need.

"It is the first rally we've planned in Moscow", Amet said. "It will help people get acquainted with each other and also with Moscow".

The last stop of the rally is Tren Mos Bistro, where the group will gather for dinner, and awards will be presented to the team that finishes first and has the lowest score.

The Russian section of Union des Francais de L'Etranger was created in February, Amet said. The group also sponsors a bridge tournament on the first Saturday of each month at Novotel Sheremetyevo 2 Hotel.
