LONDON -- Norwegian midfielder Lars Bohinen curled home a corner kick after 51 minutes as Nottingham Forest gained a 1-0 victory over Norwich City to regain fourth place in the English soccer standings.
Substitute goalkeeper Andy Marshall got one hand to the ball, but Bohinen's curling corner wound up in the back of the net.
Marshall replaced Scottish international goalkeeper Bryan Gunn after only eight minutes into Tuesday's game when the first choice 'keeper was stretchered off with a dislocated ankle.
Marshall prevented Forest from going further ahead when he made a spectacular 77th-minute one-handed diving save to keep out a free kick from former England captain Stuart Pearce.
Crystal Palace made it seven games in a row without a goal, but still ground out an away point Tuesday in a 0-0 tie with improving Tottenham.
The Spurs, which now has a solid defense under new manager Gerry Francis, has gone seven games unbeaten and three without conceding a goal. But it failed to improve on its eighth place as Palace 'keeper Nigel Martyn made saves from German striker J--rgen Klinsmann, as well as Teddy Sheringham and David Howells.
In another game scheduled later Tuesday, Nottingham Forest hoped to improve on its fifth place by beating seventh-place Norwich at home.
In Division One action, Bolton jumped three places to second in the standings after beating Tranmere 1-0. That result pushed Tranmere down to third.
Barnsley had a chance of moving second behind Middlesbrough, but crumbled 3-0 at lowly Portsmouth.

Welsh international striker Iwan Roberts is set to make his first start for Leicester under new manager Mark McGhee against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
