Australia Declares

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan () -- Australia declared with a massive first innings 512 for 9 and picked up an early Pakistan wicket at stumps Thursday, the second day of the second Test match.


Medium paceman Craig McDermott broke through when Saeed Anwar, who hit three boundaries in his first four overs, edged the bowler to Steve Waugh at gully.


The home side was 48 for the loss of one wicket at the close of play, with Aamir Sohail and Zahid Fazal unbeaten on 28 and four respectively.
