Beginning at noon on Sunday, VDNKh will host all kinds of events for adults and children to understand and celebrate Jewish culture. Some of the activities for children include a stained glass-making workshop (noon to 1:30 p.m.) and a master class in textile painting (2 to 3:30 p.m.). These will be held in the Chess Club, located near Pavilion 84.
While the kids are busy, their parents can take in a lecture or two, from the intriguing "Steal Like an Artist" at 12:30 — art historian Andrei Borovsky's look at what has made Jewish artists unique over the centuries, followed by Oleg Melamed speaking on the Phenomenon of Survival at 2 p.m., and Dmitry Maryasis on Israel's Culture of Innovation at 3 p.m. The day's talks will end with popular blogger Anton Nosik on Russians in Israel at 4:30 p.m. The lectures, which will be conducted in Russian, will be held in the Lecture Hall of Pavilion 1.
The lectures should end in time to head over to the Chess Club to join the kids for a Jewish dance class at 6:30 p.m. Throughout the day, tickets will be raffled for certificates for trips to the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center and for discounts in the café and bookstore. The festival is organized by the museum in conjunction with the Hillel Jewish Youth organization.
