Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has approved sanctions against individuals involved in the trial of the recently convicted Ukrainian military pilot Nadezhda Savchenko, according to a decree published on the president's official website on Wednesday.
The so-called Savchenko list includes 84 individuals, including the head of Russian Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin, Federal Security Service head Alexander Bortnikov and the Crimean Prosecutor Natalia Poklonskaya.
The list was approved by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on March 25. It was agreed with the European Union and the United States, according to Poroshenko.
Savchenko — accused of complicity in the deaths of two Russian journalists — was sentenced by a Russian court last week to 22 years in prison and a 30,000 ruble ($445) fine for illegally crossing the Russian border.
