Putin Plays in Sochi Hockey Match

President Vladimir Putin scored two hat tricks at an NHL gala hockey match in Sochi on Saturday, scoring six goals overall, Interfax reported.

The president scored two goals within the opening moments of the game, and later scored two more goals in the second period and an additional pair during the third. ?

A local sports commentator praised Putin's performance, saying that any player who could perform like that the whole season would be offered million-dollar contract deals.

Playing for the team "Stars of the Night," Putin sported the number 11 on his jersey. The Stars won the game 20 points to five against the opposing amateur team.

After the game wrapped up, Putin presented the hockey team's president, Alexander Yakushev, with the league's trophy. The president also signed autographs and mingled with the crowd during breaks in the game.
