Everyday Azerbaijan Through the Lens

For his project "Everyday Azerbaijan," photographer Tomer Ifrah spent six weeks in this small, and not widely known, country to document different aspects of life in Azerbaijan — its Soviet heritage, the ongoing conflict with neighboring country Armenia and life in rural areas.
His journey started in the country's capital Baku and proceeded northwest, stopping at cities, towns and villages along the way.
In Khinalig, an ancient village which, located at more than 2 kilometers above sea level, Ifrah was invited to a three-day traditional wedding.
Moving on from the Caucasian mountains, the journey continued to the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region where Ifrah photographed Azeri refugees who had fled the Azerbaijani-Armenian war.
