Telenor's dispute with Russian authorities and Alfa Group may be settled at a meeting of the government commission for foreign investments in the second half of November, said Igor Artemyev, head of the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service, as cited by Interfax.
He said the meeting might be held on Nov. 21.
"We will bring this matter up with the commission, but I think that we have to try to find a resolution before the meeting," Artemyev said.
The antitrust agency is seeking to invalidate Telenor's recent purchase of a 3.48 percent stake in VimpelCom that increased the Norwegian company's stake to 43 percent.
The watchdog argued that Telenor had failed to obtain government permission to go ahead with the deal.
