A Ural Airlines Tu-154 landed safely at a Yekaterinburg airport Friday after an engine failure forced the jet to return to the Urals city soon after takeoff, Interfax reported.
The plane was heading to Mineralniye Vody when it suffered an unspecified problem with one of its three engines near Chelyabinsk, the report said, citing the Federal Air Transport Agency.
The engine was turned off, and the plane circled the Yekaterinburg airport to burn off most of its fuel before landing.
