Yegiazaryan's Land Seized

Three land plots owned by self-exiled State Duma Deputy Ashot Yegiazaryan, accused of multimillion-dollar fraud, were seized by a Moscow court Thursday, an Investigative Committee spokesman said, Interfax reported.

One plot is located in Barvikha, and the other two in Zhukovka-1, elite settlements on Rublyovskoye Shosse outside Moscow, the spokesman said.

Yegiazaryan’s Duma office was searched Wednesday, with investigators seizing paperwork related to the case against him, the spokesman also said, without elaborating.

Yegiazaryan, a member of the Liberal Democratic Party, was stripped of parliamentary immunity by the Duma in October. The lawmaker, currently living in the United States, says the case against him was fabricated by business opponents.
