A squirrel made waves in northern Russia after leading a former police officer and a group of teens on a wild goose chase for what may or may not have been a bag of drugs, Interfax reported Friday.
Three teens were running wildly from tree to tree in a courtyard in the northern Russian town of Syktyvkar, the capital of the Komi republic, when a former police officer approached.
When the man asked the youths what they were up to, they pointed to a little white bag clutched between the rodent's jaws.
Recognizing the bag as similar to those frequently used by drug dealers, the man accused the kids of illicit activities.
As the group stood trading barbs and accusations, the squirrel seized the moment and fled the scene.
