Swift Gay Rally Staged

About two dozen activists calling for equal rights for gays have held a short unauthorized march down Gogolevsky Bulvar in downtown Moscow.

The activists dispersed when they saw police approaching. Police often take harsh measures to break up unsanctioned rallies, but there were no detentions seen at the Sunday event, banned by the City Hall on the pretext that it might harm the mental health of children who were to witness it.
