Soccer Fans Fume to Putin

Outraged fans of Russian Premier League club Kuban Krasnodar have written to President Vladimir Putin and FIFA chief Sepp Blatter to demand justice after their city was not chosen as a host city for the 2018 World Cup.

Krasnodar, which boasts two clubs, FK Krasnodar and Kuban, in Russia's top flight, was overlooked last week when FIFA and the local organizing committee picked 11 cities that will host the 32-team tournament. The fans called Krasnodar "the football capital of Russia" and threatened protests.
