Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin has slammed claims by the Supreme Allied Commander of NATO in Europe that Russia is using 'non-precision' weapons in Syria, the RIA Novosti news agency reported Wednesday.
On Tuesday General Philip Breedlove declared that “Russia and its partners in Syria are using weapons not categorized as having a high degree of accuracy — which leads to mass displacement of civilians and large flows of refugees,” RIA Novosti reported.
He accused Moscow and Damascus of “turning migration into a weapon” in an effort to weaken Europe.
Rogozin responded to the accusations by calling Breedlove an “expert in bombing Afghan weddings” on his official Twitter page.
The Foreign Ministry said Breedlove’s accusations are unsubstantiated because the migrant crisis in Europe started before Russia began air strikes in Syria.
