Police have detained participants in one-man pickets, which have in recent days demanded the impeachment of Russian President Vladimir Putin following the Panama papers leak, the Meduza news website reported Tuesday.

The protests took place near the State Duma building and the demonstrators held posters declaring: ?€?Putin hides money in Panama. Impeachment.?€?

Among the detained are Nikolai Lyaskin and Daria Yatsenko ?€” members of the opposition Party of Progress.

The police also detained a passer-by that tried to take a photo of the posters, Lyaskin wrote on Twitter.

One-man pickets demanding Putin's impeachment started in Moscow on Monday after journalists published documents leaked from a Panamanian law firm, which exposed the secret offshore dealings of world leaders and public figures.
