Police Defend MGU Arrests

Fifteen activists detained at an unsanctioned protest at Moscow State University were warned several times that they would be arrested if they didn't cease demonstrating, the Interior Ministry told Interfax on Monday, disputing claims by protesters.

Meanwhile, university dean Viktor Sadovnichy has contacted the district police chief and asked that no further actions be taken against those arrested.
