A Voronezh pensioner violated road traffic regulations 233 times on the same stretch of road, setting a new record in the process, a news report said Wednesday.
The 76-year-old pensioner, identified only as Citizen B., received 62,000 rubles ($2,000) in fines for the traffic offenses, all of which were caught on the same roadside camera in Voronezh's Levoberezhny district, legal news portal Pravo.ru reported, citing the Federal Court Marshals Service.
Court marshals said Citizen B. showed no sign of paying up until they threatened him with doubling the fines or handing down a 15-day prison sentence.
But after paying the fines in full, the pensioner is now in the clear.
It was not immediately clear how the pensioner violated road traffic rules and when the violations took place.
