Firefighters put out a fire that broke out on an under-construction tower in the Moskva-City business complex on Friday morning.

Two hundred and twenty workers were evacuated from the OKO Office Business Complex tower, emergency officials told RIA-Novosti. A news report initially said that one worker was injured in the fire, although the information was subsequently denied.

By midday, the blaze was contained to an area of 70 square meters.

A police source told the news agency that the fire started on the 24th floor of the tower owned by Capital Group.

Andrei Lukyanov, president of City, the company that oversees the construction and development of the business complex, said that a fan heater appeared to have caused the fire.

In April 2012, a fire raced through the Vostok tower in the same business complex. On that occasion, the fire started on the 67th floor before spreading to an area of roughly 300 square meters.

No one was injured in the incident, but the damage reportedly stretched to millions of dollars.

Due to an editing error, an earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that the fire occurred on Monday instead of Friday.
