"The biker was detained today by Moscow Criminal Investigation department officers at Izmailovsky Boulevard in Moscow," a ministry spokesman told RIA Novosti Tuesday, adding that the man would be detained for 48 hours in line with existing procedures.
Russian tabloid LifeNews posted a YouTube video showing a biker riding his motorcycle into what appears to be Voikovskaya metro station on Sept. 23.
The LifeNews video also features an interview with the driver, who identified himself as Stepan. The biker said he and his friends had prepared the stunt well so as to avoid any injuries.

Stepan said they planned the illegal bike ride for after midnight, when there are fewer people inside the metro. They chose Voikovskaya station because it has no turnstiles making it possible to ride the bike inside.
The biker could face a fine of up to 1,000 rubles ($31) or a short jail term of up to 15 days for disorderly conduct in line with Russian laws.
Russian television channel NTV has identified the biker as a man called Pavel. It reported on its website Wednesday that Pavel apologized to those he could have disturbed, to police officers and Voikovskaya subway station personnel.
A Message from The Moscow Times:
Dear readers,
We are facing unprecedented challenges. Russia's Prosecutor General's Office has designated The Moscow Times as an "undesirable" organization, criminalizing our work and putting our staff at risk of prosecution. This follows our earlier unjust labeling as a "foreign agent."
These actions are direct attempts to silence independent journalism in Russia. The authorities claim our work "discredits the decisions of the Russian leadership." We see things differently: we strive to provide accurate, unbiased reporting on Russia.
We, the journalists of The Moscow Times, refuse to be silenced. But to continue our work, we need your help.
Your support, no matter how small, makes a world of difference. If you can, please support us monthly starting from just $2. It's quick to set up, and every contribution makes a significant impact.
By supporting The Moscow Times, you're defending open, independent journalism in the face of repression. Thank you for standing with us.
