One person died and over 50 people suffered hypothermia or frostbite in the past 24 hours due to the bitter cold, a news report said Thursday.
The death occurred in the Leningrad region from hypothermia, Interfax reported.
The number of cold-related injuries throughout Russia has climbed to 208 since sub-freezing temperatures set in, Interfax reported.
Temperatures are expected to remain at sub-freezing levels until late next week.
