Five pedestrians were injured in? two separate car accidents that occurred 10 minutes apart in Moscow amid heavy snowfall Wednesday.
The? first accident occurred around 9 a.m. when a? driver on? the Moscow Ring Road lost control of? his vehicle and? drove into? a bus stop, Interfax reported.
Four people waiting at? the bus stop were injured, including a? 10-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy. They suffered fractured bones, head injuries and? lacerations and were taken to the hospital.
The? driver was not injured. He passed a sobriety test given to him immediately after the collision and attributed the accident to the poor weather conditions.
Within 10 minutes of? that accident, another one occurred a? kilometer away, when a? driver drove into? a pedestrian after losing control of? his vehicle.
The? city is expected to? see heavy snowfall until Friday, with a? fifth of? the month's normal amount of snow falling within the? span of? two days.
In? addition to? the slippery roads proving to? be a? driving hazard, drivers will also have to? endure heavy traffic.
As of? 11 a.m., Yandex Traffic assessed the? city's traffic jams as eight out of? 10, with several multi-kilometer traffic jams throughout the? city.
