The Center for Economic Cooperation between Georgia and Russia on Monday will hold a bilateral economic forum in Moscow, the first such event since 2006, a news report said.
Georgii Seturidze, the center's head, said that the forum is of a "purely economic nature" and that Russian and Georgian public and private entities are taking part in it, Interfax reported Monday.
He said that Georgian companies will present specific projects and business areas in which there is a possibility for partnership with Russia and later those will be discussed during bilateral meetings.
Georgia will be represented by the Association of Banks, wine exporters, Georgian Airways, travel agencies, and independent experts.
The forum aims to lay foundations for the next Russian-Georgian business forum in Tbilisi in late May.
The Center for Economic Cooperation between Georgia and Russia was established in Tbilisi in 2012 as a non-governmental organization with an aim to restore and develop trade and economic relations between Georgia and Russia.
In February, the center established the Association of Georgian Wine Exporters to help wine producers return to the Russian market after Russian authorities said they were looking to allow imports of some Georgian wines and brandies.
Currently, Georgia and Russia have no diplomatic relations.
