Lada Sales Jump 54%

AvtoVAZ said Tuesday that domestic sales of its Lada-brand vehicles jumped 54 percent in April versus the same month last year on the government’s so-called cash-for-clunkers program to support the industry.

AvtoVAZ sold 52,400 Lada cars in the period, 18,000 of which were bought using state credits, the company said. Four-month sales were 124,100, or 1,200 more than in January through April of last year.
