Hungary, Surgut in Talks

Hungary’s government is in talks with Surgutneftegaz on buying back a 21 percent stake in oil group MOL and may finance the purchase by issuing government bonds, the Napi Gazdasag daily said Friday.

The business daily said Hungary’s previous Socialist government had been close to an agreement with Surgut and that the Russian firm wanted to get 1.5 billion euros ($1.8 billion) for its MOL stake.
