Putin?€™s Spokesman Confused by Hype Around His Red Pants

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that the public reaction to a photo of him wearing red pants and UGG boots has been embarrassing, the RIA Novosti news agency reported Saturday.

Peskov told journalists on Saturday that he does not want to discuss his red pants and UGG boots.

“You know, I do not think at all that's an issue to discuss during a conference call. I am a little bit amazed by that, because when you go to a car wash at night — in order not to stand in a queue ?€” and this turns into such a story, I am, to tell the truth, embarrassed and do not want to discuss it,” Peskov was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.

The photo of the presidential aide, taken at a car wash at night, was posted Friday on the Facebook page of Irina Leshkova. The picture quickly spread across the Internet, garnering numerous comments.

The photo was later removed from Leshkova’s page, news website slon.ru reported.
