Moscow Nanny Pleads Guilty to Beheading Child

Uzbek nanny Gulchekhra Bobokulova pleaded guilty to the murder of a four-year old girl in her charge in a Moscow court on Monday, the Interfax news agency reported.

"I admit my guilt, that's what she said," her interpreter told journalists. 

A comprehensive psychological examination carried out in the course of the investigation found that Bobokulova suffers from "a chronic mental disorder." It is expected that in accordance with her medical profile, the judge will order that she be committed to a mental hospital for treatment. 

On Feb. 29 the body of a decapitated four-year-old girl was found in an apartment that had been set on fire. Later the 38-year-old nanny appeared on the street near Oktyabrskoye Pole metro station in northwestern Moscow waving the severed head of the girl and shouting "Allahu Akbar." After being arrested she was charged with the murder of a minor and destruction of property by arson.
