The Kemerovo region's elections commission deemed the city's mayoral elections valid and declared the victor to be United Russia member Valery Yermakov, a news report said Monday.
The commission told Interfax-Siberia on Monday that Yermakov won 90.99 percent of the votes in the election.
The results for the other candidates — independent candidate Timofei Popovy, Artur Stash of the Yabloko party, and Irina Orekhovaya of the Liberal Democratic Party — were not disclosed.
On July 31, 2012, then-Mayor Vladimir Mikhailov resigned after having held the post for 16 years. Valery Yermakov was then appointed as acting mayor.
