Turkmen Get 2nd Party

Turkmenistan launched its second political party on Tuesday, a token nod to democracy unlikely to pose any challenge to President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov.

Orazmammed Mammedov, a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, which itself was signed into existence by the president last year, was elected chairman of the new party. The president has also approved the creation of a third, agrarian party.
