St. Pete Airport Reopens After Bomb Hoax

St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport has returned to its normal schedule after police said an anonymous bomb threat was a hoax.

An unknown caller had telephoned the airport around 6 a.m. Friday to say that a bomb had been planted at the airport, Interfax reported. Police immediately began evacuating passengers and airport personnel from the airport's two terminals.

But after sweeping the airport, police officers using sniffer dogs didn't find any explosive devices and gave the all-clear for flights to resume, RIA-Novosti reported.

Pulkovo is the third-busiest airport in Russia, after Moscow's Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo airports.
