PARIS — Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said Tuesday that his country is concerned about France’s plans to sell at least one massive French warship to Russia.
But France’s expression of “very strong, very symbolic support” for Georgia is more important, he said after a meeting in Paris with his French counterpart, Nicolas Sarkozy.
A spokesman for the French president said Sarkozy used the meeting Tuesday to reiterate France’s support for freer trade between Georgia and the European Union.
