The Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jet has been presented outside Russia for the first time, performing a successful demonstration at an air show at Le Bourget near Paris, RIA-Novosti reported Tuesday.
The footage shows the Russian-made jet performing a number of stunts, including a spin, in front of visitors at the Paris Air Show.
The Su-35, which is an upgrade on the Su-27 model, has an target detection range of 300 kilometers, declared Mikhail Pogosyan, president of the United Aircraft Corporation. In addition, the materials used in the plane's construction make it difficult to detect on radar systems.
It is expected that by the end of 2015, the army will have 48 of the jets in operation.
In addition to the Su-35, Russia's state-run arms export company Rosoboronexport took the opportunity to present a number of other products at the air show, including the ???°-52 helicopter and the Yak-130 operational training jet.
Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu is expected to visit Le Bourget on Tuesday, where he will undertake a private inspection of the Russian aircraft.
