PACE Blasts North Caucasus

The Council of Europe’s Parliamentary Assembly adopted Tuesday a resolution that called the North Caucasus the region with “the most serious and most delicate” human rights situation in the whole of Europe and adjacent territories.

The resolution, which called on the Russian government to fight terrorism in the region “in line with respect for human rights,” faced no opposition from Moscow and was adopted unanimously, the assembly said on its web site.
