The head of the Luhansk regional administration has accused pro-Russian separatists in Donetsk and Luhansk of waging psychological warfare on the population — with Russian pop music.
The separatists battling pro-Kiev forces in the area set up loud speakers on a hill Friday night and began blasting Russian pop songs, Gennady Moskal claimed in comments carried by Ukrainian news agency UNIAN.
"The music played all night and stopped only for a period when shelling began," Moskal was quoted as saying. "By morning, even the militants themselves were sick of listening to Russian pop music, so they took the loud speaker and just started to bombard the village with curse words."
The musical stunt had coincided with the destruction of at least 20 homes in the area by Grad rockets, he said.
