Irkutsk Airport Investigates Radiation Scare

Irkutsk airport opened up a check into passengers arriving on a flight from China on Monday after radiation levels from the group exceeded the norm by five times, Interfax reported.

The excess radiation levels were detected when the passengers entered the terminal around 3:50 p.m. on Hainan Airlines Flight No. 7915 from Manzhouli, the east Siberian transportation prosecutor's office was quoted as saying.

The transportation prosecutor's office will head up an inquiry into the source of the radiation.
