The State Duma’s defense committee has recommended the ratification of the New START arms reduction treaty with the United States, RIA-Novosti reported Thursday.
President Dmitry Medvedev, who signed the treaty with U.S. leader Barack Obama on April 8, has asked the Duma to ratify the accord at the same time as U.S. lawmakers. No date for U.S. ratification has been set.
