The Rigla pharmaceutical company has paid 1 million rubles ($33,000) in one-off compensation to the families of those killed and wounded when a company lawyer, Dmitry Vinogradov, went on a shooting spree last month.
The company said in a statement that it will also pay a monthly allowance of 15,000 rubles to each orphaned child and give scholarships to those studying at Russian schools.
Rigla has already paid 120,000 rubles to each victim's family by dividing up monetary donations made by companies and private donors in the wake of the gruesome shooting at the company's office in northern Moscow, the statement said.
The company also footed the bill for a January stay in a suburban Moscow retreat and recreation center for the family of Anton Tretyakov, a Rigla employee whose widow was left to raise the couple's third child alone.
Vinogradov, 30, killed six and wounded one on Nov. 7 when he opened fire at Rigla's office in Moscow's Medvedkovo district.
He was charged with the murder of two or more people and is currently undergoing psychiatric evaluation to determine sentencing. He faces up to life imprisonment.
