AvtoVAZ said Thursday that sales jumped 23 percent in the first six months of the year from the same period last year to 220,800 cars as the government’s cash-for-clunkers program stoked demand.
June sales soared 77 percent from the same month last year to 51,200 cars, AvtoVAZ said.
