This weekend promises to be rather eventful in terms of music gigs, including two British imports, newcomers from Siberia and Moscow's equivalent of folk rock.
Marnie is the solo project of Helen Marnie, lead singer of the British synth pop band Ladytron. She released her debut album a couple of years ago and right now she is in the process of recording her second effort. You can expect to hear hits from the first album "Hunter, Hearts on Fire" as well as the lead single from the second album, "Wolves," and possibly some brand new material.

The full name of the group KDIMB is too long and to hard to pronounce — Krasnoznamennaya diviziya imeni moey babushki (My Granny's Red-Flag Division) — but reflects the large number of band members: twelve. Often compared with Arcade Fire, this Moscow indie-rock band plays a mixture of folk, rock and even Afro-pop. This Thursday's performance will feature KDIMB's hits from their last album Kiki, released last spring.

The Kooks, named after one of David Bowie's songs, is a British band that has been around for more than a decade. They've produced quite a few hits, from the upbeat "Do You" and "Ooh La" to the more somber "Seaside." Their latest album, "Listen," released in 2014, is experimental, with elements of funk and hip-hop. The Kooks have been to Moscow before, so expect their Friday show at Stadium Live to be packed with fans.

The Motherland Autumn festival is organized by the popular Vkontakte group Motherland to showcase the country's top bands. This time the headliner will be the band Zvyozdy (Stars) from Tomsk. Zvyozdy plays electronic rock with sound and vocals reminiscent of the 1980s and the cult band Kino.
