Moscow's Kursky Train Station Evacuated After False Bomb Threat

More than 500 people were evacuated Friday from a central Moscow train station following a false bomb threat, a news report said.

Authorities on Friday afternoon received an anonymous call that lead police to evacuate 520 people from the Kursky Station building and dispatch a bomb disposal unit to the scene.

An unidentified spokesman for the Moscow transport police branch said that no explosive devices were found on site and that the train station had resumed operations, the TASS news agency reported.

Under Russian law, making a hoax bomb threat is an offense punishable by up to three years in jail.
