?? woman in Russia's Perm region is facing 15 years in prison for fatally stabbing her lover after he mistreated her cat, regional outlet V-Kurse.ru reported, citing the regional branch of the Investigative Committee.

The victim had only recently moved into his girlfriend's home in the town of Kungur when he attempted, with increasing frustration, to fix a broken television set.

A murder investigation has been opened into the case, the report said, adding that the cat is under the protective care of the tragic couple's neighbors.
