N. Korea Nuke Halt Urged

Russia urged North Korea on Thursday to halt its uranium enrichment program and re-admit United Nations nuclear monitors.

Pyongyang said the day before that it was moving ahead with uranium enrichment at its Yongbyon plant, which foreign powers believe opens a second route to potential construction of a nuclear bomb along with a plutonium program.

Moscow called for International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors to examine a program North Korea says is purely peaceful.
