The pro-Kremlin Just Russia party plans no rebranding and will not pick the Siberian tiger as its mascot, its leader Sergei Mironov said Wednesday, RIA-Novosti reported.
A party spokesman said Tuesday that A Just Russia was considering using the tiger as its symbol in an attempt to one-up the ruling United Russia party, which uses a bear. The spokesman said A Just Russia would pick an animal during a congress this summer.
But Mironov told reporters in St. Petersburg that “the Siberian tiger on our emblem is a myth. There is no tiger, and there will be none.” He did not elaborate.
