6 Killed in North Caucasus

MAKHACHKALA — A car bomb and two police raids killed six people and wounded seven across the North Caucasus on Saturday, authorities said.

A suicide bomber and an officer were killed in an unsuccessful attack at a police dormitory in the town of Khasavyurt in Dagestan on Saturday, a police spokesman said, adding that seven were injured.

In the Dagestani village of Komsomolskoye, two suspected militants were holed up and shot dead in a house early Saturday, police said.

Two more militants were gunned down after a car chase in Ingushetia, police said.
