Kremlin Reads Oil Tycoon's Article Feedback

President Dmitry Medvedev, who has asked for Russians to read his “Go Russia!” article and provide feedback for an upcoming speech, has read a response from jailed oil tycoon Mikhail Khodorkovsky, Medvedev’s spokeswoman Natalya Timakova said Wednesday.

Timakova said she did not know Medvedev’s reaction to the ideas voiced by the former Yukos CEO in an article published Wednesday in Vedomosti. Khodorkovsky said Russia could not modernize without democracy and broad social support.

Medvedev has said he would incorporate people’s ideas about his Sept. 10 article “Go Russia!” in his state-of-the-nation address, which he is expected to deliver early next month.
