The Survivors of Beslan

On Sept. 1, 2004, a? group of? 32 armed terrorists took as their hostages more than 1,110 people, including schoolchildren, their parents, relatives and teachers.
The? three-day hostage crisis claimed 385 lives, including those of? 156 children, and? left 700 victims injured. The Moscow Times traveled 11 years back in time, and dug up from the archive photos taken by our photographer during a visit to a Moscow hospital where some of the survivors of Beslan were being treated on Oct. 7, 2004, a little over a month after the tragedy.
